Zapatero’s logic about nuclear energy
The economic crisis measures he has adopted, include one to reduce the use of nuclear centrals to produce energy and to improve infraestructures to import them from France. Even Socialist ex-president González has recommended him not to buy France electricity produced with nuclear means if he does not like nuclear stations.

Free speech: Wilders will not be prosecuted for Fitna movie
Dutch prosecutors said on Monday they will not take action against a politician who angered Muslims worldwide with a film critical of the Koran because he is protected by the right to free speech.
Wilders has spoken about the ruling:
The Freedom Party leader is not surprised by the ruling. “From the outset I knew I kept within the framework of Dutch law. I am pleased the Prosecution Office sees that as well,” Wilders said.
Besides the appeals there is still the matter of the Jordanian Court requesting the extradition and prosecution of Wilders for racism, incitement to hatred and insulting Muslims and Islam.
So he is preparing Fitna II, while Jordan files more complaints against him and the OIC is deeply annoyed by the Dutch court’s decission.
This is a victory just as when Maclean and Mark Steyn were acquitted in Canada.
Free speech is on the ropes, and the prospects are not very good, even if free speech’s supporters have achieved some victories:
Speaking with Mark Steyn at an event in Ottawa, I explained my sacking of Rome theory; that these small battles against free speech in nations such as Britain and Canada were like the battles that led up to the sacking of Rome. Those battles weakened the Empire and eventually led to the fall of Rome itself. Steyn agreed. America, he says, is foolish to think that it can and will prevail as the one outpost of free speech if all the other Western nations fall. Already campus speech codes, hate speech laws, historic revisionism and multiculturalism have left Americans unsure of what is acceptable to say, think or write. (Read it all)

Canada’s healthcare in ruins
… so… let’s privatize it!!
“We thought we could resolve the system’s problems by rationing services or injecting massive amounts of new money into it,” says Castonguay. But now he prescribes a radical overhaul: “We are proposing to give a greater role to the private sector so that people can exercise freedom of choice.”
(…) What would drive a man like Castonguay to reconsider his long-held beliefs? Try a health care system so overburdened that hundreds of thousands in need of medical attention wait for care, any care; a system where people in towns like Norwalk, Ontario, participate in lotteries to win appointments with the local family doctor.
Years ago, Canadians touted their health care system as the best in the world; today, Canadian health care stands in ruinous shape.
Gee… what a joke! I remember the disputes fights over Cuban public system in which its supporters were considering it the best in the world… even after seeing these photos and these videos afterwards. Very interesting to see the comments: there are people who are not interested in considering the implications they have. Just in pointing our the “so harsh” judgement on the public health care system… Aren’t they doing then a “harsh judgement” on private health care?
The ultimate Palestinian weapon
Just. Freaking. Unbelievable. Le Figaro reports the Palestinian driver has killed four persons and that “a man has phoned to AFP in Ramallah to claim the attack as made by “The Brigades of the Free Men of Galilea”, although it has not been autentified. But he added that the authour of the attack has been Houssam Taysir Dwayat, from Palestinian village of Sour Baher in East Jerusalem. He is married and has two sons, and has already had problems with justice. But the group has also claimed the attack. The same group was the author of an attack against a Talmudic school which caused 8 dead on March 6th in Jerusalem, although that claim was never confirmed“.
Meanwhile, Hamas, after signing a truce with Israel, has, nevertheless, “considered the attack is a natural answer to Israeli aggressions“, although has remarked they did not know anything about their authors.
Then some people tell you all they want is peace.

Yemeni regime with links to Al-Qaeda
Several Yemenis living in US and Canada have written a letter linking the Government of Ali Abdullah with Al Qaeda. The main reason for this is that he has “absolutely refused to implement a decision by the International Security Council to arrest the terrorist Abdulmajid Alzindani and freeze his assets together with others due to their terrorist activities“. And that the regime has released several terrorists, one of them being Jamal Badawi, the main suspect of the destroyer USS Cole in the port city of Aden.
Meanwhile, the USS Cole attack “plotter” charged, according to BBC. The problem is going to be the use of waterboarding to obtain a confession of Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri, considered for long time as the real brain who designed the attack. Detained in Guantanamo, the process could be of first importance for the prison itself:
It is not yet clear whether evidence gathered using such techniques as water-boarding will be regarded as admissible in court, or whether the prosecutors will present evidence that does not rely on the physical coercion of detainees.
The case will also raise another equally sensitive legal issue, our correspondent says. The US Supreme Court recently ruled that Guantanamo inmates have the right to challenge the basis of their detention before American civil courts, prompting speculation that the Pentagon might wait for the outcome of those hearings before proceeding.
New English Review explains the real difficulties of the process against him and is not very optimistic about the result.
Spain: four jihadists detained for fundraising for Al-Qaeda
The detained were Algerian-born and were linked to terrorists in United Kingdom. British agents have been cooperating with Spanish counterterrorism services in the development of this operation, named “Emir”. Sicne 2005, the Spanish Civil Guard was following the steps of this cell who was sending funds for terrorist organizations linked to Al Qaeda since 2005 in Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan or Algeria. The arrested (in Huelva, Lepe, Azcoitia and Isla Antilla) obtained the funding by selling different falsified products, among all documents and wearing outfits. They used to send it in small amounts, always under 2,400€.
After the arrests, the Civil Guard has entered their apartments. In one of them, which belonged to the mother-in-law of one of the arrested, they have confiscated several computers and two suitcases. According to Spanish Minister of Interior, they were not preparing any terrorist attacks in Spain. (Spain has troops in Afghanistan, just in case someone could have forgotten).
