Two brothers charged with honor killings
One in Jordan, another in Canada. The 16-year-old Jordanian confessed stabbing his 23-year-old sister 10 times, because she had disappeared 1 month with her boyfriend. In the Canadian case, the 26-year-old Waqas Parvez has been arrested, after his father because of the murder of her 16-year-old sister, Aqsa Parvez who was strangled for not wearing the veil.

In the Jordanian case, if he’s typical, the perpetrator will get a light sentence (if any, since he’s a minor). Because of perpetrator-friendly laws on the books, the average sentence for dishonor killings in Jordan is six months.

Thanks for your comment, Ellen.
It’s truly unjust what you have just written about the punishment for honor killings in Jordan. Do you think they have used the minor to kill her because he was not going to be punished (probably)?
