German Prosecutors Charge Alleged Al-Qaida Member
German prosecutors said Thursday they have charged a German national of Pakistani origin with membership of a “terrorist organisation” for allegedly aiding al-Qaida. The 46-year-old, named only as Aleem N. in a statement from prosecutors in Koblenz, western Germany, has been in custody since his arrest on Feb. 14. He is accused of carrying out fundraising in Germany and supplying al-Qaida with equipment and recruits in the Afghan-Pakistani border area, the statement said.

Palestinian father buries his daughter alive
A Palestinian woman died after her father buried her alive claiming he wanted to preserve the “family honor.” The father, in his seventies, turned himself in and admitted to killing his 24-year-old divorced daughter. After investigating the crime scene, the police discovered that the womans father had tied her arms and legs and muzzled her before burying her alive.
According to press reports on Monday, the coroner was to examine the body to determine whether the woman was also beaten before her death. The police also detained four of the victim’s brothers to investigate their involvement in the crime.

But even if the reason is once and again the same, there are voices who claim that “we can’t know what is the real reason because they are dead” and that “there are other important reasons as for example money“.
Even if that could be true, I must point out some very disputable remarks. In the article they consider that the reason to deny the existence of “honor “killings is that a very important part of the women were virgins when killed. And it poses an example:
In early August, a 26-year-old man shot dead his unmarried 23-year-old sister near Amman because she had disappeared from home for four months with a man. A medical examination, however, showed that the woman was a virgin when she died. According to Human Rights Watch, 95 percent of women killed in 1997 in Jordan in alleged honor killings were later proved to be innocent.
In these cases is not what it is, but what looks like. In a society where everything can be considered as a sin (Saudi Arabia has even forbidden women to walk their dogs along the streets as they could flirt), what would consistently believe the family of a girl who has disappeared from home four months with a man? And another thing: there are sexual intercourses who are not going to destroy the women’s hymen, so she is going to be still virgin, even if she has maintained sexual relations.
Without disminishing the importance of ignorance or poverty in this, I must say that honor is something much deeper in these countries that they want the rest of the world to believe.

Three suspects of honor killing arrested
I wrote about the terrible murder (shot and then buried alive) of FIVE women (three teenagers and two women who were their relatives) in Pakistan. Looks like their killers have been arrested.
Three suspects of killing three young girls under Karo Kari allegations in Nasirabad district of Balochistan have been arrested, advisor to prime minister on interior affairs Rehman A. Malik told Senate on Monday. Those arrested included Umaid, Qaisar and Inam Khan while investigation to identify the nature of crime and cause of death was underway, Rehman Malik said, adding, complete report will be presented before the House within three days.
(…) Rehman Malik condemned the grave incident and said Pakistan Peoples Party has always been struggling for upholding women rights.
“I myself went to Quetta and directed the IGP to submit report after thorough investigation,” he told the House.
Law of land will take the course and the culprits will be punished. However, the case needs thorough investigation as different reports are coming around, the advisor said.
But we cannot reach a conclusion about cause of death and other factors till the bodies are exhumed. “Therefore, give us time for forensic analysis.”
Malik’s opinion is different (substantially) from the one sustained by another MP, Senator Israrullah Zehri, who has defended the crime by saying that everything was a “tribal tradition“, as I wrote on the first post on the subject.

UK spends £25,000 to buy lunch boxes for Muslim inmates because of Ramadam
PRISON bosses sparked fury yesterday after splashing out £25,000 to buy lunch boxes for Muslim terrorists and criminals. The containers were handed out to nearly 250 inmates to keep their dinners warm in their cells during the Muslim festival of Ramadan.
The bright yellow metal flasks were issued to all Muslim prisoners in Londons top-security Belmarsh Jail which houses scores of convicted and suspected terrorists. They include hook-handed cleric Abu Hamza, 48, serving seven years for incitement to murder and racial hatred.
Prison officers at Belmarsh last night branded the decision “absolutely crazy”. They said that they feared the 18ins long containers looking like a tool box could be used as a lethal weapon.
The boxes allow prisoners to keep meals warm until darkness when they are allowed to eat at the end of the fasting period during Ramadan, which began on Monday.

And instead of boxes, weren’t there other solutions more appropriate for these kind of inmates??
Somali Christians struggle in Kenya
The sad thing is that Kenya’s population is nearly 90% Christian. So why people converting to Christianity are fearful of praying and worshipping their God in a Christian country?
In a secluded house just outside the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, a group of men and women meet at least once a week to worship in secret. Nairobis Eastleigh Estate has become known as Little Mogadishu Their prayer session is simple and conducted in Somali.
Elders take turns to pray or read verses from the Somali bible before a sermon is delivered. There are dozens of Somalis living in Nairobi who have converted from Islam to Christianity. Some say they have been practising Christianity for more than 10 years.
But they live in constant fear of persecution from members of the Somali community, which is predominantly Muslim. There is a sizeable Somali community in Kenya, comprising ethnic Somali Kenyans, and a large number of refugees from Somalia.
