Portuguese Government will install compulsory chips in cars
The Government wants to install chips in all cars driven by Portuguese highways. The device, of compulsory use, is going to send information about the car’s assurance and the periodical inspection, according to the newspaper Expresso. The electronic device is going to cost approx. €10 millions.
Of course, the chips cannot be altered in any way.
These measures are compulsory for normal, ordinary people, that is, those who fulfill the law, but they are not really compulsory for criminals who would find immediately a way to change their information.
