Those Who Sacrifice Liberty For Security Deserve Neither (Benjamin Franklin)

UNHRC advises Britain

Britain was told yesterday by a United Nations committee to take firm action to combat ‘negative public attitudes’ towards Muslims.

[…]

The body, which is composed of legal experts, said it was concerned ‘ negative public attitudes towards Muslim members of society’ continued to develop in Britain.

The Government ’should take energetic measures to eliminate this phenomenon and ensure that authors of such acts of discrimination on the basis of religion are adequately deterred and sanctioned‘.

UN Human Rights Committee: Authors discriminating on the basis of religion should be adequately deterred and sanctioned. (read it all).

I wonder whn they are going to tell that to Muslim countries persecuting Christians. Actually KILLING them:

  1. More violence on Christains.
  2. Chad: after listening to an inflammatory sermon against atheists and Christians, Muslims go in wild rampage.
  3. Why Saudi King does not begin “inter-religious dialogue” in his own country?
  4. Persecution of Christians in Muslim countries: examples.
  5. Islam’s Global War against Christianity.
  6. More violence against Copts in Egypt.
  7. Another Muslim attack on Egyptian Copt monastery.
  8. Catholic Archbishop Rahho’s murder.
  9. “There is an effort underway to empty Middle East of Christians”.

You see, no partiality, no hypocrisy, no lies…

  1. Thanks for the link.

Whether or not the advisory has any chance of gaining ground. It is preposterous they even try.

In the words of Flemming Rose

“…But if a believer demands that I, as a nonbeliever, observe his taboos in the public domain, he is not asking for my respect, but for my submission. And that is incompatible with a secular democracy.”

  2. You’re welcome, VH.
What really bothers me is that there are non-Muslim people, even right-wingers, who defend that we should let Muslims apply Sharia Law and that these statements against religion are not really civilised. In the end, it’s curious that I, who have always been a believer, am defending the right to insult my God, while non-believers are just considering how badly Muslims are insulted with these statements… Speaking about life’s paradoxes…😉

I see what you mean. The non-Muslims (I hate so that term) who run to Islam’s defense are as I said “dhimmi slaves” whether they realize it or not. Though no matter what we need to remain staunch in defending our freedom of speech. Once that is lost the west will crumble. And fast!

I have had Muslims use the warped reasoning that their faith is stronger than Christians since the worldwide Christian community does not kick up a huge fuss when they feel their religion has been blasphemed. Talk about your cock eyed justification.
We should riot, murder, set embassies and towns on fire?

I’ll remain civilized and leave that to the barbarians who foam at the mouth at each perceived insult.

The problem is when you see that the people are NOT really worried because of this loss of free speech. There are even bloggers who are supposedly fighting for “freedom”, that consider that this happens “very far away”, and that, in the end, they are not going to be affected by this loss of freedoms.

I have had Muslims use the warped reasoning that their faith is stronger than Christians since the worldwide Christian community does not kick up a huge fuss when they feel their religion has been blasphemed.

I have seen supposedly fervient and convinced Christians admire Muslims for “their convictions and the way they defend their faith”. I feel that horrible and discouraging because they consider that, if Christians would react the same, we wouldn’t be insulted once and again…

What I believe is that if God is “omnipotent” (I don’t know how to translate it into English: he can do what he really wants) and has not destroyed blasphemers, it’s because they serve to a purpose. Maybe make us believers consider the value of humility on our faiths?

I don’t think that killing a blasphemer is a measure of the strength of your faith: I see it more as measure of the frighten it inspires in the killer.
