Indonesia: Jemaah Islamiyah is seeking Al-Qaida Funds

Jemaah Islamiyah is weakened by arrests and as such has not carried a major terrorist attack in the last three years. But in the past they have been financed by Al-Qaeda, in both terrorist attacks and failed ones. For example the terrific terrorist attack of the Bali nighclubs in 2002 was financed by Al-Qaeda.

Two days ago, two “alleged” Indonesian terror leaders, Abu Husna and Agus Purwantoro were headed to Iraq to seek financial help from Al-Qaeda, as results from a seized laptop that indicates regional militants are cash-strapped but determined to rebuild international links, security officials say.
