Statement of the month
This statement was made during the EU conference in which the EU leaders were discussing their common position in Russian-Georgian conflict:
The most cynical comment of the day, though, was Mr. Sarkozy’s attempt to use the conflict to bully the Irish over their rejection of the union’s Lisbon Treaty in June. “This crisis has shown that Europe needs to have strong and stable institutions” like those it would have gotten under Lisbon, Mr. Sarkozy said.
Hmm, and the responsible for not having strong and stable instutions are… the Irish, you got it. Of course, EU politicians European political elites have nothing to do with it…
