Imams Scarcity Closes Bulgaria Mosques
Despite a growing interest in the Muslim faith, many mosques across the central European country of Bulgaria remain closed during the holy fasting month of Ramadan over the lack of imams to lead the worshippers.
“Two major factors are leading to this problem,” Mustafa Haci, Bulgaria’s Grand Mufti, told IslamOnline.net.
“The first goes back a long time ago, during the communist rule, when Islamic schooling was forbidden, and this has led to the current severe shortage of imams,” he explained.
“The other factor is the limited resources of the Fatwa House to pay imams’ salaries.”
The leftist-Islamist rule as it really is: totalitarians only unite themselves to end free societies.
