Iran test-fires new missile: media

leave a comment »

Iran test-fired a new generation surface-to-surface missile on Wednesday, state media said, and President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad repeated once again that the Islamic Republic would crush any power acting against it.
Iran’s latest missile test followed persistent speculation in recent months of possible U.S. or Israeli strikes against its nuclear facilities, which the West suspects form part of a covert weapons program. Tehran denies the charge.U.S. President-elect Barack Obama, like outgoing U.S. President George W. Bush, has not ruled out military action although he has criticized the Bush administration for not pushing for more diplomacy and engagement with Tehran.

Of course, we can think that this is another “photoshopped” missile

Meanwhile Obama seeks Iranian help in Afghanistan. Don’t think these are the best allies in the fight against Islamofascism…

Obama era begins and… Medvedev Hits Out at ‘Selfish’ US

with 4 comments

On Wednesday morning, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev gave his first annual address to the nation and he chose to attack the United States' "selfish" foreign policy and "economic blunders," that he says led to the global financial crisis. And just a few hours after Obama was declared the victor in the US presidential elections, Medvedev upped the ante in Moscow's dispute with Washington over the US missile defense installations in Eastern Europe.

The Russian president said that Moscow planned to place Iskander short-range missile systems in Kaliningrad, the Russian enclave that borders NATO members Lithuania and Poland. He said that the country planned to electronically jam the US system, parts of which are to be deployed in Poland and the Czech Republic, and he announced that Moscow was scrapping plans to stand down three Cold War-era missile regiments.

A Real Election Choice On The United Nations

with 3 comments

When Barack Obama said he’d like to “spread the wealth around,” he was widely understood to be talking about redistributing income within the U.S. But there’s another arena in which Obama fans are waiting impatiently for the promised wealth-spreading–the United Nations.

The danger here is not only graft and waste but the ease with which the U.N. collective, with its majority of nonfree member states, lends itself to support for dictatorships, money laundering and questionable transfers of technology and goods to rogue regimes (all of which emerged in investigations into both the U.N.’s 1996-2003 Oil-for-Food program in Iraq, and its more recent Cash-for-Kim scandal in North Korea).

Obama is promising upfront that by 2012 he’d be tossing at least $50 billion a year into this pit. If, as president, he signs onto the full U.N. program, the tab for American taxpayers over the next four years could total well over $300 billion.

Hmm, I see, this black woman must be a UN worker!! It’s the only logical explanation…

Bin Laden aide gets life sentence at Guantanamo trial

leave a comment »

A Yemeni man accused of being an aide to Osama bin Laden has been convicted by a military tribunal at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and has been sentenced to life in prison, US authorities announced.
A Pentagon spokesman said that Ali Hamza Ahmad al-Bahlul, 39, an alleged aide and media secretary to the al-Qaeda leader, was convicted Friday by a military panel of charges of conspiracy, solicitation to murder and terrorist acts, and providing material support for terrorism.
Commander Jeffrey Gordon of the US Defense Department said it was the second trial of a “war on terror” detainee at Guantanamo Bay under a specially created system of military commissions that has been criticized by civil rights activists and lawyers as lacking full protection of defendants’ rights.
Bahlul boycotted the trial and, on his instructions, his court-appointed military lawyer remained silent throughout the proceedings, said Jamil Dakwar, who observed the trial for the American Civil Liberties Union.

Kenya: Report Accuses Top Officials from Odinga’s Party for Post-Elections Ethnic Violence

with one comment

A government-sponsored commission in Kenya has accused a number of top-level officials of inciting and funding ethnic violence in the country that left thousands dead and hundreds of thousands displaced following disputed elections late last year.

The report, which was embargoed by a separate government commission, was leaked to FOXNews.com. It makes allegations against 219 persons, including many government ministers.

Their names are included in the “Schedule of Alleged Perpetrators,” a 54-page appendix to the report of the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights, or KNCHR, on violence related to the country’s December 2007 elections.

Most of the accused are supporters of the Orange Democratic Movement, or ODM, whose leader, Raila Odinga, nonetheless supported the establishment of a tribunal to try those politicians responsible for inciting the post-election violence. Odinga, who is not accused, belongs to the Luo tribe.

So Odinga followers have been accused of Kenyan violence. And do you know who is Odinga’s cousin? Yes, he is… and Odinga himself was accused of racial cleaning.

Oh, yeah, how many MSM are going to report on this? Hmm, let me think…

A video worth an election?
